The challenge

The words his patients carry are heavy ones: cancer of the larynx, a tumour in the mouth, an operation millimetres from the nerve that powers the voice. Facing them, nobody wants to take a surgeon on faith. Prof. Dr. Hafız has the record that spares them: trained at Istanbul University, a research fellowship at the Head and Neck Institute of the University of Wisconsin–Madison, a professor since 2006, board-certified three times over, with 38 international publications and six textbook chapters. Until now, that record lived in journals and lecture halls rather than on a page a patient could read.

İstanbul is one of the busiest destinations in the world for treatment abroad, and his practice is authorized by the Turkish Ministry of Health to receive international patients. He consults in Turkish and English, but the patients and families reading about him think in Arabic and German too. And before surgery of this weight, the questions are precise: who exactly operates, is the centre authorized, which insurers are accepted, and how is an appointment actually made.

The approach

The site is built around the professor and his conviction that empathy is part of good medicine: one surgeon, who explains every diagnosis until it is understood. The career leads each page — the fellowship, the boards, the decades at Istanbul University — written not as an academic CV but in plain sentences a frightened patient can actually read.

English, Turkish, Arabic and German were written in parallel to one standard, with the Arabic edition fully right-to-left. Eight treatment pages explain his surgery honestly, from head and neck cancer, the thyroid and the larynx to transoral laser surgery and microvascular reconstruction. Insurance has a page of its own with the accepted insurers named and payment settled in three steps, never after the fact; a first-visit page walks the patient through what to expect; and a dedicated international-patients route shows the Ministry of Health authorization exactly where patients look for it.

Contact matches how his patients actually reach out: booking form, telephone and WhatsApp, one tap from every page, so a patient abroad can send reports and imaging before ever booking a flight. The clinic’s address at Selenium Plaza in Beşiktaş and its hours are stated plainly, and we handled the domain, hosting, publishing and search indexing end to end, so the practice never touches a control panel.
